A short review on electrochemical exfoliation of graphene and graphene quantum dots

چکیده

The synthesis of graphene and quantum dots (GQDs) employing various approaches with a range precursors, chemicals, parameters has been reported. Most the top-down bottom-up techniques employ strong hazardous chemical environments, complicated tedious procedures, are time-consuming, often require special equipment. Another drawback reported is production agglomerated, inhomogeneous, non-dispersible in aqueous solvents or organic solvents, thus limiting its application. This work specifically comprehensively describes electrochemical exfoliation GQDs, which considered as simple one-step, facile, non-hazardous, highly efficient technique yet favourable for mass production. A brief discussion on advantageous challenges applications electrochemically exfoliated GQDs also presented.
